Skurwejantijies (Crunchies)

I have many fond memories of these traditional tea time treats. The syrupy crunch of baked oats and the chewy centre are what childhood memories should be made of. Here is the recipe that I first made when I was 7 years old and has been with my family for years.



p.s. Add a little extra water if your batter seems too dry. I find it best to use my hands when mixing the dry and wet ingredients together. Remember to leave the crunchies to cool for at least 15 minutes in order for them to crisp up.
